At the Macquarie St. Clinic of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine
we offer both corrective exercises and self massage (Dao Yin)
as an adjunct to other therapies.

This generally involves the practitioner showing the patient
various exercises to strengthen or revitalise particular areas.
Generally it will include stretches and soft rolling techniques.
The corrective exercises are usually used in the management
of Musculo-skeletal disorders (such as Neck Strain, Lower Back
Pain, and Shoulder Pain etc.)

Self Massage is a highly effective technique
for relaxation and circulation. It is aimed at teaching the
patient how to help themselves while not in the clinic. Self
Massage has been used for thousands of years to assist patients
with conditions relating to stress, fatigue, and pain etc. We
personally recommend this therapy for people who work long hours
in front of a computer and need a break. Nearly all techniques
are able to be done in a seated position. Self Massage is also
incorporated into our cosmetic programs, and can be taught separately
or during an Acupuncture session.
